I keep hearing people say "Roleplay is dead" and to be frank I don't feel it is. I feel the issue isn't roleplay but rather the respect for roleplay. When you roleplay people don't accept it. People try to roleplay and then don't recieve it back.
The big roleplay killer is motivation. I tried to roleplay a situation and 2 out of all the cops recipicated. We had a fun roleplay. It was good. I was later disapointed to hear from another cop that what I did "wasn't" roleplay. It was apparently a waste of time.
I feel like people try to roleplay and rather then joining in some players try and avoid recipicating. Then the players who do try to roleplay get disheartend. Just because it's not your way of roleplaying doesn't make it any less valid. If we could just respect each others roleplay situations and try to contribute then there wouldn't be any roleplay issues. I mean people constently say they wan't roleplay. It's not a hard ask to say "If you see someone roleplaying try and reflect roleplay back".
I know everyone here can be creative.
